To quit Parental Control, click the menu button in the top right and select Quit Parental Control.

Alternatively, press ⌘ + Q with Parental Control in the foreground.

To cancel blocking, delete any events under Schedule using the minus button.

After adding websites to the Blocked Websites, start a blocking session under Schedule.

Also, make sure that Parental Control is allowed to access your web browser under System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy → Automation → Parental Control. You can block System Preferences under Apps in Parental Control to prevent changes.

Finally, try the following:
  • Restart your web browser.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Uninstall Parental Control, delete it from the Trash and reinstall it from the Mac App Store.

This error usually means that there is an issue related to the Mac App Store.

One of the following points should fix the problem:
  • Sign out of the Mac App Store and sign back in (see Store -> Sign out in the menu bar).
  • Restart your computer (especially if you have recently updated macOS).
  • Delete Parental Control, then delete it from within the Trash (this is important) and reinstall it from the Mac App Store.

Parental Control enables the Pro features based on an electronic receipt managed by Apple. In rare cases, the correct receipt is missing so Parental Control cannot tell that you are subscribed already.

Please try the following:
  • Log in with the correct Apple ID in the Mac App Store using the Store menu in the menu bar.
  • Log in with the correct Apple ID under System Preferences → iCloud.
  • Move Parental Control to the Trash, permanently delete it from the Trash and reinstall it from the Mac App Store.
  • Connect to the internet so that Apple can update your receipt.
  • Make sure System Preferences → Date & Time is correct.
  • Restart your computer.

If it still does not work, please email us.

Website blocking in Firefox cannot be supported at this time for technical reasons.

For now you can block Firefox under Apps in Parental Control and use Safari, Chrome, Brave, Edge or Opera instead while blocking is active.
