After adding websites to the Blocked Websites, start a blocking session under Schedule.

Also, make sure that Parental Control is allowed to access your web browser under System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy → Automation → Parental Control. You can block the System Preferences app under Parental Control → Apps to prevent unauthorized changes.

Finally, try the following:
  • Restart your web browser.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Uninstall Parental Control, delete it from the Trash and reinstall it from the Mac App Store.

Subscription

Parental Control enables Pro features based on an electronic receipt managed by Apple. In rare cases, the correct receipt is missing so Parental Control cannot tell that you are subscribed already.

Please try the following:
  • Move Parental Control to the Trash, permanently delete it from the Trash and reinstall it from the Mac App Store.
  • Log in with the correct Apple ID in the Mac App Store using the Store menu in the menu bar.
  • Log in with the correct Apple ID under System Preferences → iCloud.
  • Connect to the internet so that Apple can update your receipt.
  • Make sure System Preferences → Date & Time is correct.
  • Restart your computer.

Features

Website blocking in Firefox cannot be supported at this time for technical reasons but might be supported eventually using a new blocking technique.

For now you can block Firefox under Apps in Parental Control and use Safari, Google Chrome, Brave, Microsoft Edge or Opera instead while blocking is active.
We will support iOS if Apple makes it possible to create a blocker that is difficult to circumvent.

Until then, we recommend to use Apple's Screen Time or temporarily lock the devices away, for example using kSafe.
